Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, Sun in Leo

25 degrees, 52 minutes
Thursday, August 18, 2016
2:26 am (PDT)

august 2016 horoscopeThis Full Moon is in the sign of the water bearer, Aquarius – which is actually an Air Sign. A few days before, during and after the Full Moon, we may be stimulated and inspired by social, humanitarian, political and scientific activities. Because this Full Moon period is influenced by the Sun in Leo, you, and people around you, may be feeling intensely dramatic and expressing themselves in eccentric, rebellious, radical and unexpected ways. People’s desire for freedom is heightened now, and any restrictions to this freedom may bring dissatisfaction, restlessness and rebellious reactions. At the same time, there is an increased desire to socialize and to help others.

While the Sun is in the sign of Leo – the sign it rules – it radiates creative, expressive, playful, celebratory and dramatic energies! This is a time for rejoicing in our existence and living in the present moment. Invite your inner child to embrace the energy of the Sun and play more!

At the time of this Full Moon there will be a partial (penumbral) Eclipse of the Moon that will be visible during Moonset in the western parts of North America & South America, the eastern tip of Russia, the Bering Sea, and the Aleutian Islands; and during Moonrise in the Marshall Islands, Australia, eastern half of Indonesia, Japan, North and South Korea.

Mercury (in the sign of Virgo) is in a Conjunction to Jupiter. This aspect stimulates us to expand our thinking and increase our knowledge. It helps us to see the bigger meaning of our existence. It supports expanding understanding and scientific breakthroughs for health and philosophy. This also supports meaningful communications, writing, publishing and travel.

This Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse begins a very rare series of three Eclipses in a row including a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on September 1st and another Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on September 16th.

This is a very powerful time for experiencing major changes and manifestations of new and diverse energetic frequencies. We, as a collective consciousness and as individuals, have increased power to manifest whatever we are thinking and believing.

The good news is that we have greater ability to manifest our desires. This is because we have a direct access to the causal forces of the Universe during and in-between these eclipse cycles. During this 29-day period it is critical that we consciously focus our thoughts only on what we truly want.

At the same time, Mercury & Jupiter are both Inconjunct (a 150-degree aspect also known as ‘Quincunx’) to the Moon. Be aware of possible emotional stresses due to being out-of- synch emotionally, intellectually and philosophically with others. If this happens, be sure to quiet yourself, get centered and ask where this stress is really coming from. It may be helpful for those involved to find a way to work together with a focus of service to the good of all.

A T-Square Configuration (shown in Red) with Venus and the North Node (both in Gemini), Neptune (in Pisces) and Saturn and Mars (both in Sagittarius), represents a time of possible confusions, misunderstandings and deception in our relationships, career, power, sexuality, commitments, structures, philosophies and spirituality. This may bring discoveries of non-truths, hidden agendas and betrayal.

Because of this T-Square influence, it is wise to ask ourselves the following questions:

  • What are my true motives and intentions?
  • Am I giving my power away to someone I believe knows more than me?
  • Am I able to acknowledge my inner power and live my life authentically?

When you ponder these questions and allow the voice of Spirit to speak, you will know what to do.

Make a personal commitment now:

To live your life in integrity with your inner knowing and compassion for all beings.

And always remember:

If your compassion does not include yourself,
it is incomplete.
