Venus-ruled Libra is an air sign, the second air sign of the zodiac. Libras born on the cusp of Virgo may be more grounded than the typical Libra. Libras born on the cusp of Scorpio may be more intense, more strong-willed, than is typical.
Libras are a charming, fun bunch. They’re usually lovely to look at and lovely to talk to. They could be called the social butterflies of the zodiac. Typical Libras are kind and considerate. They won’t embarrass you if they can avoid it. They love good times and good conversation, and make for good party hosts.
They’re diplomatic and harmonious. Often, a Libra will agree with whatever you’re saying to avoid hurting your feelings and to keep the atmosphere peaceful. They can also be indecisive, for they have a strong sense of justice and are very intelligent. They can hear and sympathize with both sides of an argument.

For the most part, Libras are cheerful, fun and optimistic people. They’ve got a temper, though, and when it’s aroused, it can be a bright, searing flash of anger. They’ll storm off in a huff and go somewhere to collect themselves. When their spirits are restored, they’ll be their usual charming selves again, although they may retain a grudge.
Libras love to be in love. They live for love. In fact, they can fall in love several times a day. However, Libra is a social animal, and very flirtatious. They see love as more of an “all you can eat” buffet, and like to sample a bit of everything. It’s their nature.
They’re not the jealous type, as they’ve got a wandering eye themselves. However, if a Libra is unhappy being tied down to a relationship, they’ll just walk away. Hopefully there will be no hard feelings on either side, but don’t bother trying to make a Libra jealous to retain their attention. They just won’t be interested. They’ll be looking for the next beautiful face before their ex has time to realize it.
As an air sign, Libra is most compatible with the similar-minded air signs Aquarius and Gemini.
Watery Scorpio can provide an intense, passionate relationship, but Libra will be turned off by Scorpio’s possessiveness and jealousy. Kind-hearted Libra is gentle enough to manage with earthy Virgo for a while, and can have some fun with sunny, warm-hearted fire signs Leo and Sagittarius.
Watery Pisces may be too emotional and clingy for a Libra, and earthy Taurus may be too solidly rooted, too stubborn.
Fiery Aries is usually too much for a Libra, too “in your face”. Earthy Capricorn may be too strong and set for a Libra’s flighty ways, and moody, watery Cancer will just bring Libra down.
Libras can be fun and charming and can be the life of the party, or the social glue that holds everyone together. Just don’t try to clip this butterfly’s wings…they’ll be gone before you know it, and things just won’t be as pleasant and sunny as they were before.
