The Pisces Child
Astrology & the Child
Astrology is a very practical tool in raising children. It provides information that eliminates judgment and criticism of a child (and parent) and can inspire communication between the generations. The knowledge of astrology enables us to enhance a child’s potential and to understand their specific behaviors. We can allow them to be who they are and not what we, society, or schools expect them to be.
Pisces & the Child
All children will be affected by Pisces energies February 18th through March 19th. This is an excellent time for parents to study with their child the famous Pisceans listed later in this article. Awareness of place is also important at this time of the year. Take your child outside during the night and explain the connection humanity has with the stars and planets. This is the bigger picture and allows the child to sense the uniqueness of self. In The Lion King, the father lion told the baby lion if at any time he felt alone to look up to the constellations and talk with them for they were our teachers. Teach your child their place in the scheme of life and the spheres of heaven. From this information they will know they are loved and protected.
The Piscean Child
The Pisces child is like an exotic water lily, a thoroughbred racing horse, a hummingbird or a twilight fire fly. The image of Pisces as two fishes signifies first that they are illusive and second that they have two sides to themselves, the dreamer and the realist. Being pure water they are like little sea sponges absorbing all emotions, moods and thoughts in their environment.
Children actually construct the inner supports of self and ego from every event, feeling, and word in whatever environment they find themselves. Therefore, it is very important that the Pisces child be given the most harmonious and peaceful environment, when very young, so that their teen and adult years are not a constant search for order.
The Pisces child is imaginative, a dancer, an artist, a dreamer and usually isn’t on the Earth plane. Harsh words or reprimands do not work with Pisces children since anything inharmonious confuses them and the result is a turning inward. They are often shy so don’t push them. Upon meeting new people the Pisces child will sense if the person is safe and to be trusted. Be very protective with whom you place this child keeping them away from highly charged or emotional people and events.
The Pisces child wants to serve others since that is their evolutionary task; but, teach them how to serve their own needs first. Parents of Pisces children serve their child best by gentle yet firm order in the environment, soft colors, practical rules, and compassionate understanding that this child comes from dimensions less harsh than this one. Allow them to dress up, role play, daydream and invent fairy tales. They do not compete, and can be rather clumsy unless dancing. Soft music and spirituality inspires them, and drama gives expression to their dual parts.
Read to them about fairies, nature spirits and the lives of great scientific and spiritual men and women. Dr. Seuss, the writer of The Cat in the Hat was a Pisces as were the painters Renoir and Michelangelo, the musician Vivaldi, the dancer Nureyev, the astronomer Copernicus, the physicist Einstein, President George Washington, the actress Jean Harlowe, the intuitive Edgar Cayce, the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning, comic Jerry Lewis and the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell. When your Pisces child grows up send them to Europe. It is a Pisces continent.
