Sagittarius in 2nd House – Sagittarius on the cusp of the Second House

You are constantly seeking out ways to grow and expand your financial, material, and/or physical resources. If you aren’t focused on growing your financial coffers or increasing your collection of toys, you are probably very good about using your financial resources toward ever-larger or more involved experiences of activities that you are passionate about.

You may also find that your money may be spent as quickly as it comes in, and that the more you make, the more you spend or the bigger the purchases. Budgeting may be a challenge for you unless you have (or find) the discipline to focus on and work toward specifics with your spending. If you are spiritually-minded, you may find yourself seeking proof of Truth and faith through your ability to generate your ‘survival’ resources.

Since Sagittarius is a mental sign, the acquirer of knowledge, here the Sagittarian must develop the proper value to the acquisition of knowledge itself. Most Sagittarians tend to develop skills or acquire knowledge necessary for themselves or their particular profession and not from the viewpoint of a broad perspective. Here the opportunism comes into the picture, where the value of knowledge is stressed only from the viewpoint of how it can help the Sagittarian get ahead in life.

Since this is the second house of materialism, the Sagittarian tends to be very materialistic in the acquiring of knowledge itself. In many ways, it is very easy for the Sagittarian to demonstrate some of the negative qualities of Taurus, because to the Sagittarian, anything he has or anything he knows is a reflection of his own success.

Sagittarius is a fire sign, and part of its outgoing nature is frequently to have a cause. With the location on the cusp of the second house, there should be caution that this cause does not include the collecting or controlling of people; in other words, being possessive of others, and in many ways, creating dependency, which again would be a Taurean quality assumed by the Sagittarian.
