Stressed Venus/Libra in the Health Profile – A Focus on the Adrenals
Sometimes an unexplainable phenomenon presents a statistically unexpected emphasis on a particular type of client during a relatively short time period. This article recounts a recent experience that you may find helpful.
Typically, when Venus or Libra is stressed in the Natal Chart, I mention that potentially vulnerable health areas include the kidneys and lower back. Recently, however, numerous charts have reinforced that in these cases there is also a strong focus on the adrenals.
Adrenals are small endocrine glands that are located on top of each kidney. They work in conjunction with the hypothalamus and the pituitary glands to produce and regulate the levels of corticotropin hormones in the body.
To quote Wiki:
Etymology
The adrenal glands are named for their location relative to the kidneys. The term “adrenal” comes from ad- (Latin, “near”) and renes (Latin, “kidney”).[50] Similarly, “suprarenal” is derived from supra- (Latin, “above”) and renes. The adrenal glands (also known as suprarenal glands) are endocrine glands that produce a wide variety of hormones.[1] They are found on the top of the kidneys and consist of a number of different layers that directly influence the structure and function of the glands.
When there is a problem with the adrenals, adrenal stress, adrenal fatigue, or adrenal exhaustion may develop. Typically triggered by stress and characterized by fatigue, insomnia, weight gain, or depression, the diagnostic process can sometimes be quite elusive.
I have encountered multiple clients with stressed Venus/Libra in the natal chart that have had adrenal involvement.
Two charts in particular initially piqued my interest. Both had Libra intercepted in the 6th and interestingly, both had Neptune in the 6th (which can suggest elusive diagnoses). Both had been recently diagnosed with adrenal fatigue!
Other charts demonstrated a similar emphasis with Venus in or ruling Libra on the 6th, 12th, or the Ascendant.
One client had Venus-ruled Libra on the 12th cusp as well as the Ascendant. On our initial meeting years earlier, I asked about kidney or low back issues and was told that they hadn’t been problematic. Recently, however, she called and said that she had just been diagnosed with an adrenal tumor. As expected, the 12th house relationship may suggest a potentially more serious health challenge than the 6th. Once again, astrology picked up on this potentially health risk; at the time however, I didn’t focus on the adrenals.
A Google search will reveal that the internet has numerous references to adrenal stress, adrenal fatigue, or adrenal exhaustion. One popular book, Adrenal Fatigue by James Wilson deals in detail with the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition.
Now, when I have a client with a stressed Venus/Libra natally, I will certainly include adrenals in the list of potentially vulnerable health areas. The client may not know about the adrenals, but if fatigue, insomnia, etc., are issues, they may choose to follow up with their health care practitioner to ascertain if adrenal fatigue is the cause.
