Why do people Bully? – The Astrology Of Bullying
At some point in their life almost everyone has encountered a bully. Whether you have been bullied yourself or you have met someone who you thought had a bullying nature, it’s hard to make it through life (let alone school) without coming into contact with at least one person of this type. Unfortunately bullies can affect the lives of others profoundly, causing lifelong loss of confidence and fear, and sadly that is their aim. It is only by making you feel fear and intimidation that they are able to derive their power. Without this, they are nothing.
A bully is anyone who uses power and aggressive behavior to control or overpower someone else, trying to make them believe they are stronger, more superior and more powerful. Ironically though, most bullies have actually felt great pain at some point in their life and it is this pain that has led them to feel weak, inferior and inadequate inside. This is why they also often target those that have qualities they wish they had themselves. They’re effectively trying to “steal” whatever quality they see in you that they don’t see in themselves.
Bullying is not just something that happens at school or in the workplace. Bullying can happen anywhere. Indeed, varying degrees of bullying at home in the form of domestic violence or child abuse is sadly, relatively common.
Yet, just because bullies can be found everywhere does not mean we have to tolerate their behavior. The best way to deal with a bully is not to react (particularly if their style is to shame or humiliate you) as they enjoy watching you suffer. However, if the bully is aggressive or violent, then it is important that you respond with equal strength. This does not mean fighting them (particularly if you are smaller or weaker than them), but it may mean contacting the police or engaging a lawyer to press charges against them. You have rights in law, and those rights were put in place to protect you. USE THEM.
Remember that humans, like animals, can sense fear. It is important that you raise your vibration above fear if you are to be able to feel emotionally and psychologically free from the bully’s power. The easiest way to do this is to find something that helps you to feel empowered. Perhaps that means taking up self-defense classes, or going to an acting class to help you to learn how to express the more assertive side to your personality. Above all, and I know this may feel hard, but try not to feel hate towards that person. Hate is an emotion that will only attract other negativity into your life and there may very well be things in that persons past that deserve our compassion.
Bullies and the astrological chart
Bullying is a choice and just because elements in our astrological chart may make us more inclined to bully, it does not mean we need to give free rein to this aspect of our personality. Similarly, if you have one of the aspects listed below in your chart, I am not saying you are a bully. However, it would suggest that you have the potential to be (at least at times), particularly if a transiting planet were activating or making that aspect of your chart more sensitive than usual.

- Hard Moon / Pluto aspects suggest power issues with a mother figure (and therefore consequently, certain types of women). Often the mother was perceived to be controlling or verbally abusive.
- Hard aspects to the Sun can lower self esteem (particularly if Saturn is involved).
- Hard Mercury / Pluto aspects involving the 3rd house can suggest sibling rivalry that turned nasty.
