Are You More Spidey or Batman? Your Star Sign Will Reveal Which Superpowers You Have

ARIES (March 21 – April 19):

If youre trying to close your eyes and imagine a real life superhero, you won’t have to look far beyond an Aries. They may not necessarily be built like one, but they are all superheroes where it counts: in spirit. The Aries’ fighting spirit will be easily recognizable in a sporting arena, for their never-say-die attitude will dwarf even the most valiant efforts of any other Zodiac.

So what powers would an Aries Superhero have? An indomitable spirit, boundless energy, and expert skill with any weapon in existence. Any of these three powers might not seem all that impressive by themselves, but consider them in the hands of a spirited, charged up hero. When up against a dark army, gathered in numbers of thousands, would you want anyone else spearheading the resistance other than a superhero who does not know the meaning of the word ‘defeat?’ The Aries Superhero will charge towards the army head on, carrying any of the numerous weapons that he is expertly skilled at, and will fight till every single one of the enemy is defeated. For how can someone who never tires, will never give up, and can fight expertly with any given weapon, possibly be defeated?

In terms of persona and appearance, the Aries superhero can be likened to Thor, with a tough, almost brutish appearance, and a sense of self-belief that comes from an inner strength that few others can even imagine, let alone possess.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

Ever gotten into an argument with a Taurus? Forgive me, that was a silly question; obviously you haven’t, or you wouldn’t be alive now to talk about it. Taureans can argue people to death, not with aggression or venomous insults, but with sheer persistence. They may not always be right, but they will always believe they’re right, and this self-assurance translates into their greatest power: obstinacy. Open up a thesaurus and look up the word stubborn; next to inflexible, tenacious and persistent, Taurus should be listed as the sole example. Taureans are virtually immovable when they’ve set their minds to something.

The Taurus Superhero will therefore have unmatched strength and weight, capable of outlasting any sort of offensive attack. An army of thousands can’t move this superhero, for he weighs more than mathematical or analytical comprehension. He can only move and be moved through his own free will. His dogged nature and immense weight is paired with unmatched strength, which allows him to crush cars with his fingertips, destroy buildings with one swing of his fist, and flatten his enemy with a single step. He’s not exactly the Hulk, for it is not anger that lends him his powers, but tenacity. He’ll be composed and level-headed on the battlefield, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to put him at the front of the lines, where he will be an impenetrable wall of defense. He won’t be a towering giant, with long limbs, and a far reach. He’ll be more compactly built, with a short but thick physique, powerful legs and a strong back. That Taurean charm will be there too, so he’ll most likely be impressing the enemy while he flattens their ranks and crushes their spines. Such is the skill of the Taurean superhero.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

She’s up there on the mountain, fighting that… no wait, she’s checking out a necklace in that jewelry store—no, sorry, she’s actually having dinner at… wait, where is she? Good luck trying to keep up with the Gemini superhero. She can move around like the Flash, appearing in one place one instant, and then in another place, miles away, the very next second.

She can move at the speed of her own thoughts, but that is not her only superpower. She can split herself into many different selves, like clones, so that they can each multi-task and fight the enemy simultaneously. It’s not something she likes doing, because every time she splits herself into another form, she grows a little weaker. But when in a dire situation, with minutes left to disarm a nuclear device and save mankind, this Gemini superhero is the one to call. She’ll split herself into half a dozen clones, one of whom will be a skilled bomb-defusing expert, while another will be a medic that tends to the wounded, while a third will attack the enemy ranks as a hand-to-hand combat specialist. The fourth will be an accomplished sniper, who perches herself on top of a building and picks the enemy off one by one. The fifth will type up a Pulitzer-winning story about the events as they happen and send it into the New York Times, while the sixth will be dining in that posh, uptown Japanese restaurant—hey, a girl’s gotta eat. Ten minutes later, the nuclear device would be deactivated, the enemy bound and left in front of the courthouse, all the wounded expertly healed and sent home, and the story e-mailed to the NY Times Editor. She won’t have finished eating yet though—there are somethings that shouldn’t be rushed. At the end of the day, she’s still just one person. All those clones with the different skills, talents and purposes, are all her own. She’s a smart, sexy superhero with more personality than all the other superheroes put together. But she’s still just a girl at heart.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

Whatever you do, don’t put the spotlight on her—hey, I mean it! It doesn’t matter if she just thwarted a terrorist plot, brought a dozen criminals to justice, and basically saved the world, all while wearing six-inch heels. If you’re thinking about holding a grand reception for her, maybe awarding a medal, and basically introducing her to the media as the Superhero that saved the day, then she might just turn on her superpower again; invisibility.

This girl doesn’t like to be seen, if she can help it. She likes to work quietly in the background, doing what she does best: observing, understanding and manipulating people and their actions. Might sound like a bad thing, but it’s not. There are those that manipulate people for their own needs, but though Cancer superhero is skilled at influencing the decisions of any living being, she will only do it where it is necessary for the greater good. So she’ll become invisible and slip quietly through the enemy ranks, getting all the leaders and commanders to change their plans, abandon their missions, and eventually surrender to the authorities. They won’t know what happened or why it happened; they haven’t seen her, they’ve heard her, and felt her persuasive presence. She knows how people think, and how best to bring a response out of them.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

Everything and anything a Leo does is grand, flamboyant and worthy of attention. In part, this is because they crave the limelight and will do anything to earn it. But it is also because once they find themselves under the limelight, they know how to keep it. The Leo superhero has powers that are flashy and attention-grabbing, true to their nature, and quite literally as well. Or their primary superpower is Pyrokinesis. They can create, manipulate and control fire, the most dangerous volatile of all elements, which incidentally governs their Zodiac Sign, with consummate ease. Imagine the Leo in the middle of a dark alley, suddenly approached by a gang of intimidating thugs. Neither defeat nor surrender is the Leo’s vocabulary, and since neither of those are options, the Leo will choose to ‘intimidate.’ An empty carton on the side of the alley sudden catches fire, spontaneously—the thugs step on it and put it out, rattled by the event, but not yet intimidated. Two more cartons go up in flames next, casting the dark alley in a warm shower of golden light—the thugs are now rattled. The Leo will next raise his arms heavenward, in a gesture of both grandeur and theatricality—two specialties of the Lion—and the walls on either side of the alley will erupt into two screens of blazing fire. Suffice to say that the gang would have scattered with panic by this stage. Other heroes with lesser powers, or at least less flamboyant powers, would have sought a different strategy. But the Leo aims to do everything in as grand and glorious a manner as possible, and normally succeeds at it.

Pyrokinesis is a formidable power to possess, for fire is a dangerous weapon, and does not normally obey a person’s whims. The Leo superhero therefore controls one of the most volatile and explosive elements in existence, and can also wield it expertly—what else would you expect from the Lion that lives to show-off and steal attention?

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

Virgos are calm, reasonable beings that crave order and discipline in the world around them. They can be emotional, passionate beings, but never on the surface. For Virgos hate disorder and commotion, and while expressing their feelings might be normal behavior for other signs, the Virgo considers that an imperfect act. The Virgo superhero is therefore a neat and tidy figure, with a face that shows little or no expression. She will go about her work, whether it be as a fact-checker for a leading newspaper, a custodian at a High School, or as Guardian for the entire world, in an unruffled, methodical manner. Since she craves normality and predictability, she has a strong dislike for dishonesty. Lies, falsehoods and fiction, are all among her chief pet peeves, and so her superpower, correspondingly is X-ray vision that can inform her not only the contents of any physical matter, but can also read the thoughts of any living being.

As you may imagine, it’s a formidable weapon to possess in a world where people are largely inscrutable, wearing masks that hide more than just their expressions and thoughts. Not knowing can infuriate the Virgo more than others, and so she will use her X-ray vision to know with certainty every grain of truth that is embedded within an individual.

This power enables her to know a person’s intentions and affiliations, and determine accordingly whether they can be trusted or not. She’s not a skilled warrior, a hulking mass of strength and power, or in possession of flamboyant weapons; but she is powerful in a way that even the strongest heroes cannot imagine, for what she has is strength of character.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

When it comes to a Libra, the keyword is ‘control.’ Libras crave it, with a desire that borders on the obscene and the desperate, and they would do anything to ensure they retain it. Whether in a relationship, a partnership, or a friendship, Libras need to hold onto a certain amount of control. They like to hold sway in conversations, have people concede to their whims and decisions, and generally ensure that everything runs the way they want it to. What could be a more appropriate superpower for this Air sign, other than Telekinesis? The Libran superhero is highly intelligence, seductive and sassy. Beauty is synonymous with all Libras, and is a superpower in itself. This stunning gal though doesn’t just fill out her costume perfectly, but she creates that level of perfection in the things around her. Through thought alone, she can manipulate the path and structure of every single inanimate object around her, large or small.

Imagine the possibilities such a power can allow, for through her thoughts alone, this Libran can stall the enemy’s vehicle, disarm him as he reaches for his gun, and finally cause a length of rope to bind him into submission. And she can do all this through the power of her mind. The limitations of her powers though are the extent of her visual fields, for she can only manipulate objects that lie in her visual path. And while she can exercise control over any inanimate object, her powers do not extend to living beings. But what does it matter if she can’t force her enemy off the edge of the building? She can have the entire building collapse out from under him. At the end of the day, you gotta admit that it’s a cool power for a cool gal.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

The Scorpio superhero is easily the most dashing and enigmatic of the Zodiac, but has the least obvious set of superpowers. She isn’t a burly, muscular hero with unmatchable strength. Nor is she sunny and cheerful, with an ever-ready smile on her face. Instead, there is an air of darkness and mystery around her, along with a seductive charm that is at once intimidating and intriguing. She loves the darkness, the shadows and is no stranger to pain and suffering. Expect her to adorn a Catwoman-like suit of black leather, with some kind of mask that veils most of her features, except for those gorgeous, intense eyes. She accepts the mantle of savior reluctantly, for she is at heart an individual in conflict, and this will show in her behavior and her lack of faith in her own actions. She is not short of self-belief however, and knows how effective she is with her set of skills.

The strength of the Scorpio is that she can affect you without you even realizing that you’ve been affected. The chief superpower of the Scorpio is vocal manipulation. While that might not sound like a very effective or valuable power, consider this: the Scorpio superhero can get an individual to do absolute anything, through vocal instruction alone. If an army of the enemy’s soldiers are approaching the city, the Scorpio has but to command them to stop and turn back, and the army will obey without question. Such is the influence of this Scorpio woman. She is also a flexible, nimble warrior, adept at using those sinewy limbs to cause significant damage. But unless she is craving a physical outlet, she won’t engage in combat. For why bother getting her hands dirty when she can simply persuade her enemy to surrender with her voice alone?

While her vocal manipulation is an undoubtedly valuable asset, there are many limitations and weaknesses. She must be heard to affect a person, and they can do anything within their powers to block her out. While most superheroes come equipped with potent superpowers that serve them in their duties of protecting the world, the Scorpio superhero relies on a skillset that serves her individually, as much as it does society.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)

A good-natured superhero with an impish smile, a sunny demeanor and never-say-die attitude? Yep, that’s the Sagittarian all right. Whether he’s rescuing a cat in a tree, or dueling his arch-rival on top of the World’s tallest building, the Sagittarian will be positive, confident and cheerful. His sense of optimism is in itself a superpower worth mentioning. Herculean by nature, the Sagittarian superhero will be athletically built, capable of scaling walls, running faster than bullets, and fighting till his enemy drops dead of exhaustion. He has a great fondness of nature, and will whittle away his time in the mountains and forests, replenishing his self-belief and deep well of positivity, until he is once again needed to serve humanity. But we haven’t even gotten to his main superpower yet: indestructibility. Not to be confused with infallibility, for he is not incapable of losing a battle, but the defeat will simply not destroy him. If his enemy fires a bazooka at him short range, the Sagittarian will simply turn to ashes. But there will be faint embers within the ashes, and from that dormant fire he will rise again, stronger and more determined than before. There is no vanquishing this hero, for his sense of optimism runs deeper than his personality, and is etched into his very soul.

The Sagittarian embodies the traditional mold of a superhero, from his athletic prowess, his physique, to his tireless pursuit of justice and peace. Nothing can bring him down, literally or emotionally, and no matter what adversity he faces, he will tackle the opposition with that sunny demeanor that is the very symbol of his greatness.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

The Capricorn is the most intelligent, resourceful and patient superhero of the Zodiac, going against the traditional mold of the passionate, emotionally explosive hero. He is the quietly determined hero, unremarkable in size or stature, but virtually unaffected by any physical force or impact. Whether you drop a two-ton beam on him, or run him over with a truck, the Capricorn will be unaffected. No amount of physical adversity can affect him, and he can walk away from a plane crash, with hardly a scratch. He is a product of the very Earth that is reflected in his soul, and he derives his strength from the weight of the ground, which resonates within his bones. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to pair him off with the Taurean Superhero, and put them both at the front of your defenses. No matter how heavy and forceful an attack is launched, neither of these two powerful heroes will budge. But while he may be physically indestructible, he has more powers at his disposal. By the same token, he is also capable of bending and altering physical matter according to his will. Whether that means crushing a car with his thoughts alone, or else bending a suspension bridge like a paperclip, the possibilities are endless.

Intelligent, knowledgeable and capable of completing any task you set him, no matter how difficult or elaborate, the Capricorn superhero is not short of natural ability. His list of superpowers is remarkable, but his incredible depth of patience and resilience is perhaps even more extraordinary. He might be physically unimpressive as a hero, and be built more in the mold of a scientist or theorist, but there is a sense of strength to this man that goes deeper than mere bones and muscles, and he has enough power to shatter even the largest forces in existence.

So keep him on your good side, and no matter what you do, don’t shake his hand…

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)

The Aquarius is an eccentric hero, liable to abandon the battlefield in the midst of a fight for humanity, just to try his hand at inventing that time machine he’s been working on in his basement for years. Like most Air Signs, he is flighty, quite literally speaking, for he can float and hover, as well as soar high through the clouds. Don’t go imagining Superman though, for the Aquarian hero won’t be looking for possible dangers, or searching for his arch-rival, but more probably testing our a new wind-resistant suit he’s been working on. Where the Gemini superhero has many personalities, and the Cancer hero many moods, the Aquarian has many interests. He marches to the beat of his own drummer (often literally, for Aquarians tend to be musically inclined), and so you can’t expect him to turn up for duty when the world is in danger. He’ll lend a hand certainly, for he has a strong sense of civic mindedness, but first he’s got to finish working on those weightless boots he’s been testing out.

The primary superpower for the Aquarian is mind-travel, which as you might expect, comes in handy, for his body is often too slow to keep up with his thoughts. He can therefore transport himself to any location he can imagine, in the blink of an eye. But the limiting factor is that his body always remains in the same position. So he can peek in on the President at The White House, or else check out a match at Wimbledon, or even sit in on a Physics lecture at Harvard University, his body will be back in his basement, where he left it. It’s a handy superpower in dire or emergency situations, when one might need to be in many places at once, but the Aquarian only seldom uses it to serve humanity. For the most part, he’s content using his powers to learn, understand and explore more of this world that is a playground to him.

PISCES (February 19 – March 20)

They are the oldest of the superheroes, and easily the most soulful as well. Piscean heroes are dedicated to their causes, and have a strong sense of morality and civic mindedness. They are emphatic individuals that care deeply for the weak, the wounded, and the weary, but their strongest sense of duty lies with animals and children. Piscean Superheroes can be found safeguarding Zoos, Wildlife Reserves, Schools and Daycare centers, while the duty of protecting the rest of the city will be left with one of the remaining eleven signs.

Ever heard the saying, “Slippery as a fish?” It’s no coincidence that Pisceans are the signs of the fish, and embody the slippery, unattainable nature of the creature in their behavior. Pisceans can use expert camouflage to blend into any background with consummate ease, essentially giving them invisibility. They use this indiscernibility to go into places other heroes cannot, and to infiltrate deep within enemy lines. Pisceans would make excellent burglars, for not only could they break into a home without being noticed, but they would leave the place looking untouched, apart from being a few thousand dollars lighter.

But the truly remarkable power of these heroes is their ability to manipulate the elements. Piscean heroes can calm explosive fire, calm volatile winds, soothe the angry earth, and still the rapid seas. They particularly share a deep connection with Water, their element, and can produce a tidal wave, or a torrential rainstorm at will. Nature is synonymous with the Piscean hero that loves and cares for all living beings. She is a kind, nurturing hero who believes in all things natural, and while she may not dazzle you with her superpowers the way other heroes might, her actions are no less noble or effective—they’re just hard to see, is all.
